As with most casino games, Blackjack is played with chips instead of real money. Chips of different colors and denominations are used to play casino games including Blackjack. There are several interesting facts about the use of chips at Blackjack tables, and we are going to discuss them in this article.
First of all, there are three denominations of chip commonly used for playing Blackjack, which are the $5, $25, and $100. The $5 chips are red, $25 chips are green, and of course the $100 chips are black. There are casinos offering Blackjack games using different chips denominations, but these three denominations are the ones used in almost every Blackjack table you can find.
When you play at Las Vegas casinos, there is also a terminology called “foreign chips”. The term “foreign chips” is used to describe chips issued by other casinos. When you use the chips at Blackjack tables, the dealer will announce that foreign chips are on the table; pit boss supervising the area will determine if the foreign chips you use are valid and exchange the chips with the casino’s chips of similar value.
Chip placements are crucial when you play at real Blackjack tables. There are wagering circles in from of your seats; make sure you place your bets inside the circle in front of you to make them valid. You can also place a bet directly in front of the betting circle; this gesture means you are betting for the dealer, as tips or rewards for their great services.
